Carly Melchert became the Executive Director for Meals on Wheels of Salem County in 2017. She is a graduate of Rowan University, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion & Wellness Management.
Carly is a Salem County native, where her family’s farm is located and now lives just a few miles from. She has always been passionate about helping others and enjoys her work as she finds it to be incredibly rewarding. The Meals on Wheels’ mission and vision are both important to Carly as she is helping to serve those who are family members of her friends, they were her teachers, nurses, coaches, and her neighbors.
Having helped care for her grandmother while she suffered from Alzheimer’s disease gave Carly the perspective of what aging is like and the impact it has on the individual and their family.
Carly is currently the President of the Meals on Wheels of New Jersey State Association, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Salem County Inter Agency Council and is a member of the oversight committee for South Jersey Institute for Population Health, among many other committees as well.
When Carly isn’t busy working or volunteering you can find her enjoying time with her fiancé Steve and their pets Harvey & Simon, family and friends. She enjoys a good thrift store, time outdoors, cooking and dancing to live music.
