Doug Damm

I was made aware of the MOW volunteer opening in January 2020 through a Facebook post and interviewed with you on February 11. I thought it was a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community.

I have been volunteering for 6 years every Friday morning with Phil abundance at Rowan University. It is a food bank distribution for the Glassboro community. I find that the MOW experience is a more personal opportunity to serve clients who are usually housebound, lonely and appreciative of our efforts to bring them daily nutrition.

I retired in 2014 as a sales representative for the Sealy/Stearns & Foster Mattress Company. I  am an outdoor enthusiast and enjoy biking, kayaking & hiking coupled with maintaining my home property in Mullica Hill. I am happily married and have 2 grandchildren and I am grateful for the farm fresh produce that we enjoy in south Jersey.

Doug Damm of Mullica Hill joined our volunteer team in February 2020. He learned about the need for volunteers from a post that was shared on Facebook and thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community. We asked Doug to share with us the experience of delivering meals and tell us a little about himself.
