Lindsay Harmon has been volunteering with Meals on Wheels since 2009. We asked her what made get involved with the program initially and why is volunteering important to her.

“My employer at the time encouraged management to get involved in a local organization. I reached out to Meals on Wheels and they were so welcoming and kind. I have always loved volunteering and Meals on Wheels was such an easy organization to partner with. The staff is awesome!

I think it’s important for everyone to give back to the community in which we live and serve whether you are donating your time or donating financially. Volunteering makes me feel good and I know it is making a positive impact on our community.

I have met some wonderful clients while delivering. I’m thankful I am also able to make my family a part of delivering while they are out of school for the summer or during a holiday such as Thanksgiving. It’s important for your children to see you doing good things and hope that they will also grow up to give back.”

We would like to thank Lindsay for her continued support of Meals on Wheels of Salem County.
