Nancy Asay of Mannington started volunteering after she and a friend retired; they wanted to do something in the community and also have fun.
“We are often greeted with smiles and a happy ‘Hello’ from the clients. Many have provided us with flowers from their gardens, chocolates from gift baskets, and wonderful stories. We are enriched by the interactions. One client even gave us new masks she had made, a timely gift. It makes me happy to think I’m helping others. My friends and I enjoy our monthly meal run, then often have a lovely lunch at a local restaurant. We feel we get more than we give. “
