Giant Pumpkin Carve virtual event

The Giant Pumpkin Carve is a more than 20 year old beloved Salem County event hosted by Meals on Wheels of Salem County. The money raised from the event benefits Meals on Wheels of Salem County’s clients – home-bound seniors. The event typically takes place in person and provides for an afternoon of family fun and raises enough money to cover 20% of the 45,000 meals the organization delivers each year.

This year the event has gone virtual. The best pumpkins from the last 4 years will compete against each other. The pumpkin that raises the most money will win the title “Best of The Best.”

YOUR VOTE DOES GOOD

By voting, you are donating to Meals on Wheels of Salem County.

More than 300 volunteers enable 45,000 meals to be delivered to socially isolated, frail senior and disabled members of the community each year.

58% of home-delivered meal recipients live alone, and for many of them, the person delivering the meal is often the only person they will see that day.

Frequent visits provide unique opportunities to meet nutritional needs, combat social isolation, address safety hazards and provide holistic care.

2 OUT OF 3 RECIPIENTS report the meals make up half or more of all food eaten that day.

Your participation in the Giant Pumpkin Carve helps to make this possible for Meals on Wheels of Salem County. Together with your help, we can deliver more than just meals.
